Land Use Ecological Services, Inc. was established in 1981 by Charles W. Bowman. In 2023, William P. Bowman and Kelly M. Risotto acquired Land Use after working for the firm for 16 and 20 years, respectively.

Land Use provides comprehensive environmental planning and technical services related to environmental regulations and permitting, natural resource assessments, wetland and terrestrial ecology, environmental impact analysis, and GIS mapping for municipal and private sector clients. Specific areas of expertise include compliance with New York State, Federal, and local environmental regulations; design, permitting, and implementation of ecological restoration projects; permitting and environmental monitoring of beach nourishment and shoreline restoration projects; environmental impact analysis for NEPA and SEQRA compliance; development and implementation of monitoring programs for endangered species and critical habitats; completion of natural resource and botanical inventories; mapping of ecological communities and habitat types; wetland and habitat delineations; and development and implementation of invasive species management programs in wetlands and aquatic habitats.
